About Surveillance Systems
On the subject of personal safety and self defense, products out there are
many and uses vary from watching or listening to someone without their
knowledge, being aware if someone is trying to listen to you without your
knowledge, recording a telephone conversation, to a first line of defense
in stopping someone from breaking into your home or business. There are even covert gps vehicle tracking
systems to find out how about how your automobile is really being used-- where
it has actually been and how far it is actually been driven.
Home Surveillance Systems
Meant to watch over your house when you are or are not physically able to
watch your home, either inside or out. The best business and home surveillance systems
are the ones that do what you want it to do- keep someone from entering your premises
or getting near you.
If you think of defending yourself and those you are responsible for, think
along lines of defense- the innermost being when someone is able to physically
assault or rob you. In this case, items like pepper spray, stun guns, C2 tasers
or stun batons would be a way to physically stop them from actually being able
to reach you and do physical harm. The next line of defense are items that set
off warnings- like home, building or personal alarms - items like window alarms,
door alarms, door jams that make noise, portable devices you can activate by the
touch of a button or a pull of a cord to dissuade someone from getting near you.
The alarms are good, except that at that point the person with the bad intentions
is already trying to get at you or your possessions.
The most desirable is to dissuade them from even trying to get in or at you
in the first place. This is where surveillance comes in. Cameras in plain view -
even in imitation ones - can do a lot to make someone think twice as to whether
or not they want to deal with your home. Criminals are generally looking for the
easiest target, and as soon as you do anything to make it even look like you
will cause them a problem, like possibly having a video surveillance system in
place to record their every move- they re very likely to look elsewhere.
Counter Surveillance
There may also be times you want to know if someone is watching or listening
to you. This is where good counter surveillance equipment can come in very
handy, if you even suspect someone is dropping on your conversations. through
devices that attach to your phone, you can find out if someone is trying to
record your call. Are there electronic bugs in the room? Use a radio frequency
detector to know if signals are being broadcast that aren't supposed to be.
